Bell summons in all-colour era of video door entry

Bell System has nailed its colours to the mast and ushered in the all-colour era of video door entry system, cutting the price of the new video telephone in its bellissimo range to the same price as the monochrome version.

Stocks of the colour video door entry telephone will again be available exclusively via ADI-GARDINER, its distribution partner for over 25 years. Bell has already concentrated production on colour systems to meet the major increase in demand now expected.

“We are the first mainstream supplier in Europe to make this move, one that will no doubt be followed by other manufacturers in due course,” says Bell’s sales director Rob Jenkins. “The cost of components such as TFT screens has come down appreciably in the last couple of years and in committing to colour, we are letting installers have all its advantages without the large extra price premium this has carried to date.”

Bell’s new colour model boasts all the popular features of the monochrome telephone and incorporates a 3.5" colour LCD screen with a useful tilt facility to enable optimum viewing at differing heights.

The ‘soft-touch’ silicone rubber push buttons are backlit and have clear operating symbols. The telephone is wall-mounted directly without additional mounting brackets or connectors. An internal plastic moulding protects the internal electronics during installation.

A single telephone model caters for both simple one-station systems as well as multi-station digital systems. These telephones do not require co-axial cable and generally operate on standard Cat5 cables. Standard packaged systems are readily available. Alternatively, systems can be supplied with a variety of panels including vandal resistant and digital options, also with combinations of proximity and coded access control facilities available.
